Cabo San Lucas: My First Time Deep-Sea Fishing

You could say I’m hooked. hehehe

Ok but seriously.

Consider me your adventure bestie, always ready to try *almost* anything. Yet at 34, I somehow missed the memo that fishing was super fun.

That all changed in Cabo San Lucas, one of the world’s greatest fishing destinations.

Initially hesitant, I knew I had to do it. My sexy boyfriend suggested it. He’s smart and I trust his judgment. So at 4am, we loaded up the 31ft boat and headed out for charter.

Our first catch on the Sea of Cortez was a persistent bird, who decided he wanted the bait and would not let go. The crew had never seen anything like it, and we were dying laughing as Raphael had to cut the line.

When you try new things, the hilarious misadventures can surprise you.

And if I’ve learned anything in life, it’s that I want to be surprised.

Because life is HARD man, and it’s also beautiful.

When you try new things, you’re more open to new experiences.

And I like experiencing life.

That fishing expedition? We caught at least 10 fish and it was the highlight of our trip.

And I can’t wait to do it again.

I still think about sweet Pancho, the hungry sea lion who was begging for snacks on our return to the harbor.

It’s not just about catching fish, it’s about embracing the unknown, being patient, and witnessing nature.

Fishing opened my eyes to new possibilities and reminded me to always, always, always, be open to trying new things.

I can’t wait to see what other adventures are out there.
